The Last Day (of planning)

Well, this is my last full day in Anchorage. After buying all my supplies, gifts for the kids, way more music (and pens) than I need, and geeky books, I am finally as ready as I'm gonna get. Sunday I'm off to Florida, and the work will begin for real. Share this blog with anyone you think would be interested; unfortunately, I don't have everyone's email addresses to share it, so if you know someone who'd like to read it but doesn't know, spread it around! I'll touch base from Ft. Lauderdale.

In Anchorage

Hmmm...my first attempt at a mobile update. Please pardon any typos. So, here I am in Anchorage, waiting to head out for our second day of shopping. I believe I have everything I need for Panama except for a couple of costume pieces. (It's amazing how hard a cheap brooch and tiara are to find). Using any extra money people have given us, Cassie and I are buying Bibles and toys for the orphans. We've already bought 5 dozen balloons and a dozen jump ropes! I've also turned into a shoe girl. I got three pairs yesterday (three cheers for $15 hiking boots!) But that's not Panama related. Three days till we fly down to Miami. I don't know if I'm excited or not. It probably won't register until hour three or four of the Seattle-Miami flight. I think I'm ready to be there, other than wanting more sleep first. Anyway, hope you all are having a great week, and God bless!

Introduction

This will be soooo much easier than last year.  Last year I had to add like a hundred email addresses to my list and email them all (fortunately all at once) every time I had an update letter.  This way, I'll just update here every other day (at least), and people can check whenever they want.
So, for anyone who I emailed a link to this blog, or people who found it on Facebook: thanks for joining me this trip.  Feel free to share it with friends.  Post in the comments or email me at katiehuling@gmail.com - I'll still be checking email and replying when I can!
For those of you who don't know how this will work:  I will post regularly (last year, it was every other day) about the things I have been doing/learning while in Panama (or training in Ft. Lauderdale).  I will leave this blog up for at least a few months after my trip (and possibly until I start my next big adventure, whatever that may be), so you can come back and re-read stuff.
Anyway, enjoy reading about my trip as it happens.

Dates of trip: July 1 - July 15
